By accessing or using our Digital School platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all users including students, parents, guardians, and teachers.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services. Parents or guardians must accept these terms on behalf of students under 18 years of age.
Eligibility
Age requirements
- Students must be between 12–18 years old (JSS3/Year 9 to SS3/Year 13)
- Students under 18 require parental or guardian consent to enrol
- Parents and guardians must be 18 years or older
Geographic availability
Our services are currently available to students in:
- Nigeria (following the Nigerian curriculum)
- United Kingdom (GCSE and A-Level curriculum)
- United States and Canada (following their respective curricula)

Enrolment process
- Complete the online registration form with accurate information
- Select the appropriate program and grade level
- Provide parent and guardian contact information
- Accept these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
- Complete payment to activate enrolment
Program changes
Students may request to change programs by contacting our support team. Program changes are subject to availability and may require pro-rated payment adjustments.
Platform usage
Critical platform policy
All classes must be conducted through our official school platform. We strictly prohibit teachers from engaging students through personal channels, social media, or external platforms unless explicitly directed by management.

Prohibited activities
- Teachers conducting classes outside the official platform
- Direct personal contact between teachers and students without management approval
- Sharing personal contact information (phone numbers, social media)
- External meeting arrangements without school authorisation
Account security
- Keep your login credentials confidential at all times
- Do not share your account with others
- Report any unauthorised access immediately
- You are responsible for all activities under your account
Live classes
Class schedule
- Full School Programme: 15–20 hours per week, weekdays
- Exam Prep Intensive: 3 sessions per week
- Weekend Classes: Saturday and Sunday sessions
- Special Topics: Scheduled by appointment
Class conduct
- Students must join classes on time
- Cameras should be turned on unless technical issues arise
- Mute microphones when not speaking
- Raise virtual hand to ask questions
- Appropriate behaviour and language required at all times
- No independent recording of classes — the school provides official recordings
Class size
To ensure quality education and personalised attention, we limit class sizes to a maximum of 7 students per session.
Communication policy
Student–teacher communication
- All communication must occur through the platform messaging system
- Teachers will respond to student questions within 24–48 hours
- Emergency academic support is available through the support team
- Office hours may be scheduled for additional help
Parent–teacher communication
- Parents can message teachers directly through the parent dashboard
- Scheduled parent–teacher conferences are available upon request
- Progress reports are sent to parents monthly
- Parents receive immediate notifications for attendance or behavioural issues
School-to-home communication
- Important updates sent via email and platform notifications
- SMS alerts for urgent matters (with consent)
- Weekly newsletters with school news and announcements
Reporting violations
If any teacher or staff member attempts to contact you outside the official platform without management authorisation, please report this immediately to the Management team via support@alternativeschool.live.
Attendance and participation
Attendance expectations
- Students are expected to attend all scheduled live classes
- Attendance is tracked and reported to parents
- Consistent absence may affect academic standing
- Medical or emergency absences should be reported in advance
Missed classes
- All classes are automatically recorded and available for review
- Recordings are accessible within 2 hours after class ends
- Recorded sessions remain available for the duration of your enrolment
- Students can catch up on missed content at their convenience
- Teachers may assign makeup work for missed classes
Participation requirements
- Active participation in class discussions is expected
- Complete all assignments by the specified deadlines
- Take tests and exams as scheduled
- Engage respectfully with teachers and classmates at all times
Class recordings
Recording policy
- All live classes are recorded by the school for educational purposes
- Recordings are automatically available after each class
- Students can access recordings through their dashboard
- Recordings may capture student faces and voices during class participation
Recording access and usage
- Recordings are for enrolled students' personal study use only
- Recordings cannot be downloaded, copied, or shared externally
- Students may not record classes independently
- Unauthorised distribution of class recordings is strictly prohibited
Consent
By enrolling, students and parents consent to being recorded during live classes. If you have concerns about recordings, please contact us before enrolment.
Student conduct
Expected behaviour
- Treat teachers, staff, and fellow students with respect at all times
- Use appropriate language and behaviour in all interactions
- Follow class rules and instructions from teachers
- Maintain academic integrity in all work submitted
- Report any bullying, harassment, or inappropriate behaviour
Prohibited behaviour
- Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind
- Using offensive, abusive, or inappropriate language
- Disrupting classes or preventing others from learning
- Sharing inappropriate content or images
- Attempting to hack, damage, or interfere with the platform
Consequences
Violations of conduct rules may result in:
- Warning and notification to parents
- Temporary suspension from classes
- Permanent removal from the program without refund
- Legal action in severe cases
Academic integrity
Honesty in academic work
- Complete your own assignments and tests
- Cite sources properly in all written work
- Do not use unauthorised materials during tests
- Do not plagiarise or copy others' work
Testing integrity
- Tests must be taken individually without outside help
- Browser lockdown may be enabled during exams
- Webcam proctoring may be used for high-stakes exams
- Suspicious activity will be investigated thoroughly
Violations
Academic dishonesty will result in:
- Zero grade on the assignment or test
- Immediate parent notification
- Possible program suspension or expulsion
- Note on academic record
Payment terms
Pricing
- All prices are in USD and subject to change with 30 days notice
- Monthly programs are billed on a recurring basis
- Session-based programs are billed per session
- Payment is due before the start of each billing cycle

Late payment
- Overdue accounts may result in suspended access
- Late fees may apply after 7 days
- Continued non-payment may result in enrolment termination
Cancellation
Cancellation process

- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle
Refund eligibility
- Full refund if no classes have been attended
- Pro-rated refund based on classes completed
- No refunds for completed programs or courses

Educational outcomes
- We provide quality education but cannot guarantee specific exam results
- Student performance depends on effort, aptitude, and various factors
- We are not responsible for university admission decisions
Termination
By student or parent
- You may cancel enrolment at any time
- Account access ends at billing cycle completion
By the school
We may terminate enrolment for:
- Violation of these terms
- Non-payment of fees
- Inappropriate conduct or behaviour
- Fraudulent activity
Changes to terms
We may update these Terms of Service periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via email and platform notifications. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
